Biography

Born in 1964 in Maisons-Alfort near Paris. In the age of 12 years, he obtained the first prize of classic guitar to the National Music school of Issy les Moulineaux in 1992 with the Argentine Boss Raul Maldonado. Laurent Boutros has the breath of his origins. Born in France with parents from Armenia, he writes a music inspired by the traditional musics of Armenia and of the other countries of the Caucasus. Since 1993, several publications appear to the editions Henry Lemoine.

Since 1997, Laurent Boutros did several tours in Europe, in Asia, and in Central America. His music is regularly played and recorded by some groups in France and abroad, Sarah Chenal and Olivier Pelmoine, Carles Pons, Filomena Moretti, Toshiji Ishii, Krysztof Pelech and Jan Jakub Kobun.

In 2004, he answers at the request of the National Center of Contemporary Art Georges Pompidou to create and record in the guitar a Music on "Harlequin's Carnival" for the exhibition JOAN MIRO "The birth of the World".


Recently, in 2007, he is the guest of the international Festival of guitar of the Île de Ré, the international matches of guitar of Antony, the international festival of Bath in England, the Festival of Choroni in Venezuela and gave a conference onto his work of composition to the institute to supérior del arte in Havana.

In 2007, his last CD released, entitled " A guitar in Armenia " on the occasion of the year of Armenia in France. The CD is introduced by the Canadian director of Armenian origin Atom Egoyan.

Egoyan says about him: " Laurent Boutros managed to get the soul of the folk tradition Armenian in a fascinating and new way. These beautiful parts which associate a work of transcription with a ré - sensitive interpretation, propose a spiritual and delicate journey.
