The duo "Dirks and Wirtz" was promoted by its sponsor price with the "1. European Guitar Award "2006 to a firm size in the music scene. Masterfully they play classics of Astor Piazzolla, Sting, Ennio Morricone and Chick Corea as well as own compositions, in which they combine elements of the Tango Nuevo, Flamenco, South American traditionals and the Musette Walzs in an new way. With their instruments the two musicians go out the far over borders of a classical guitar. The duo is one of the most touring guitar ensembles in Germany and was honored at several festivals around Europe and achieved numerous prices at international competitions. Ratings in the music press for their 2007 debut “Danza non Danza” (Classic Concert Records) ranged from very good to outstanding.

Reentko Dirks deals besides classical music with flamenco and oriental music. He lived in Asia and Israel for longer terms, where he could study and deepen the regional stylistics of music.
Born in 1979 near Goettingen, he decided in 2000 to study the subject of “Guitar Worldmusic” with Prof. Thomas Fellow in Dresden, where he got to know Daniel Wirtz. Reentko Dirks is in the master class now.
He works in several projects with a large range of musicians with whom he played concerts all over Europe, Israel and China. Together with the “Quarteto caliente” in 2005 he performed Rodrigos “Concerto Andaluz” in the Semper Opera of Dresden.

Daniel Wirtz, born in 1979, decided to learn guitar at the age of ten. On his instrument he combines elements of Jazz, classical and traditional music.
In 1999 he achieved first place in the competition “Jugend Jazzt” (“Youth Jazz”) in his region Northrhein-Westphalica before he came to Dresden to study the subject of “Guitar Worldmusic” with Prof. Thomas Fellow in 2000. Four years later he finished his studies succesfully and continued studying in Linz, Austria with Michael Langer.
