The duet prepares at present a new album dedicated to the musics South Americans. (Piazzolla, Pujol, Leisner, Gonzales) whose release is planned in the 1st half-year 2009.
The creation of the "CORDES ET AMES" duet in 2001 was full of promise from the outset :
They won two international chamber music prizes in 2002 with the UFAM Paris Competition and the Mauro Giuliani Competition of Bari ( Italy ). They also obtained the highest reward for chamber music at the CSNM of Paris in 2005 ( E.Bellocq's course). Olivier Pelmoine and Sara Chenal follows the cycle of perfection in the class of JJ Kantorow and R Dyens.
The music they play ranges from old and classical to contemporary, and includes East European, Spanish, as well as South American music
They can also improvise and write transcriptions.
Their broad spectrum of performance is such that they have played in a variety of places : Cité de la Musique, Invalides, salle Cortot in Paris , Palais des Papes in Avignon , Cathedral church in Vézelay, or the Festival de l'Ile Barbe in Lyon .
Since September 2003, their music show entitled Cordes et Ames has been been part and parcel of the Jeunesses Musicales de France tour, with a record of over 200 performances ( 2003-2006).
They were invited in 2006 by Gaelle Le Gallic of the prestigious France-Musiques broadcast for the “Dans la cour des Grands” programme [ a springboard for mounting talents] and they occasionally appeared on TV, in particular in a special programme devoted to guitar music, with R.Dyens and E.Rossfelder (Direct 8).
Several works have already been dedicated to them by composers such as F.Rossé, J.Y. Bosseur, A.Dumond, L.Boutros, J.L. Narvaez, O. Rojas Gimenez. They will be included in their second CD due in 2007 on the label “Skarbo”.
She studied the violin at the Conservatoires Nationaux de Région of Dijon and Boulogne-Billancourt, where she won first prizes for the violin, for chamber music and musical training.
She then moved to the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique of Lyon where she got the highest reward for violin in 2003 in the courses of Roland Dugareil, then Annick Roussin.
In 2004 she attended an advanced cycle at the Rotterdams Conservatorium under the guidance od J.J.Kantorow.
She repeatedly attended master-classes with musicians of international repute : O.Charlier, J.Guethem, P.Vernikov, A.Vinnitzki and T.Zehetmair.
Now, she teach in the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional of Nantes.
He studied the guitar in Gap and Dijon, then carried out advanced musical studies in Paris, attending the course of Rafael ANDIA at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, where he was unanimously awarded the Diplôme d'exécution in 2000, and the course of Olivier CHASSAIN and Carel HARMS at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he obtained the highest distinction ( 1st Prize) in 2004.
He also was in the master-classes of Roberto AUSSEL, Eric FRANCERIES and Roland DYENS. In addition, Olivier PELMOINE was a prize winner in the following international competitions : Ile de Ré, Ville d'Avray ( a tribute to Ohana), Tremplin Jeunes Talents ( Montpellier ), Bari ( Italy ), violin and guitar duet ( UFAM Paris)
Now, he teach in the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional of Chambéry.
