A great revolution and innovation
The Corelli Alliance strings are the result of know-how in the process of the composite fibres. We are the only manufacturer having been able to adapt the Alliance KF fibre for making musical strings for different instruments (guitar, lute, harp, violin, viola and now cello). To reach such a point we had to solve a certain number of technological problems inherent to the nature of the Alliance KF material and worked through the complex processes necessary to give it the characteristics desired in top quality strings.
The original Alliance fibres did not have sufficient tensile strength for musical strings. Our first goal was to find a fiber that would not break when the string is tightened on the instrument ;
Once the proper tensile strength was found, the specific elongation and elasticity had to be obtained in order to provide the best tonal qualities and ease of playing ;
Then it was necessary to work on perfect intonation. It means that the fibres should have exactly the same thickness and be perfectly round all along their length which requires that they be extruded using a sophisticated technology especially developed for the Alliance KF fibre.
As a result of our long experience and thanks to the development of sophisticated technologies, we have solved all the above-mentioned problems and offer very high quality strings which represent a real innovation and advance in the field of violin and viola strings.
Although Corelli Alliance strings are made of a composite core of synthetic material, they present all the sound qualities and characteristics which are found in the best gut strings with additional significant advantages over gut strings. For all these reasons Corelli Alliance strings represent the best alternative to gut strings, which nobody could expect.
The extreme sensibility of the Alliance KF fibres makes the strings very sensible to the tension. Therefore the choice of the right diameter is essential to increase the balance between the instrument and strings. Our recommendation is for each note to try all three available diameters, even if the first string tried seems to be suitable.
Although there is only a slight difference between the different diameters, our experience shows that a slightly higher or lower diameter, i.e. tension, can bring notably improved results not only in balance, but also in sound and response.
The choice of the right diameter can also have a positive effect on the life span of the string. It’s still more especially true for viola than for violin, since there is a great variety of viola instruments and the balance on some of these instruments is still more delicate.
Due to their characteristics, the Corelli Alliance strings match perfectly and can be mixed with the best results either with gut strings or with nylon strings.

Our know-how has allowed us to develop a very high quality wound nylon string that offers a classic sound and does not have the usual nylon sound which is a bit hard and aggressive. On the contrary, we managed to give Corelli Crystal strings a natural warm sound and rich tone.
The nylon we use is obtained from a very special molecule. It is subject to special treatments exclusive to Corelli, which give it the best characteristics. As a result the strings offer the best sounding qualities, which distinguish Corelli Crystal strings from other traditional nylon strings.
The Corelli Crystal strings benefit from the regular improvements that have been made possible over the past years as we improved and developed new technologies. The results of our research works led also to improvements in the quality (increased sounding qualities, increased solidity and longer life of the string). The reports we receive from our customers confirm these excellent results.
The Corelli Crystal strings are not so sensitive to the tension as the Corelli Alliance strings.
The « Medium » gauge is most often used, and on most of the instruments the same tension can be used for all the 4 strings. If the sounding qualities should not give complete satisfaction, in all cases the use of a thinner or thicker diameter can improve the sound in a definitely positive way.
Due to their sounding characteristics, the Corelli Crystal strings can be mixed with steel as well as with gut strings or with the Corelli Alliance strings, which offers additional possibilities of balance of the instrument and sound.

The development of these strings dates back to several years. Their success has been shadowed due to the fact that steel strings have been less popular for a time. The demand for steel strings is starting again with a new success ahead for Corelli strings that we dare not expect.
These strings represent innovations that bear on the choice of the materials, on the quality of steel and on the winding techniques. As a result the strings offer a classic sound and do not have the usual metallic sound of steel strings, which is a bit hard and aggressive.
In developing these strings there has been a search for a string that enhances the qualities of the instrument and offers the response under bow that musicians are looking for. They have also a warm sound, enriched tone, without aggressiveness, which allows using them in association with gut strings or the Corelli Alliance KF strings or nylon strings.
They are available in 3 different tensions, which allow choosing the right tension for increased balance with the instrument.
